  • Abstract
This paper proposes an analysis technique for generating sine-wave temperature at the hot side of thermoelectric modules. We apply the analysis technique of sine-wave signal generating of transistor amplifier using characteristic and load line diagram for this analysis. In this technique, we convert the thermoelectric heating system into the Electro-thermal model and simulate by the PSPICE program. To find the characteristic and load line diagram of the thermoelectric heating system, we firstly set the temperature at the cold side of thermoelectric modules at the ambient one, and utilize the desired specification of hot plate as material. In simulation, we vary the values of the cooling load and the direct current of thermoelectric modules in order to determine the diagram of this system. Then we apply the direct current in sine wave form into the diagram for generating the sine wave form of temperature generated at the hot side of thermoelectric modules. To evaluate the performance of the proposed technique, we have constructed a prototype system. The system consists of 16 modules (Melcor, CP 1.4-127-045L) connected in series, a heat exchanger at the cold side, and a copper plate at hot side (160*160*3 mm) with a control system. In experiments, we apply the direct current in sine wave form varying from 0.3 to 1.7 Amps. The results reveal that the temperature at the hot side of thermoelectric modules is nearly the same as the current and varies 40 to 80°C.
