Abstract :
The basic design technique for a high resolution and high speed PC-compatible transient data capture unit with adjustable pre-trigger/post-trigger data window is described. Its application is aimed for medium and high speed throughputs (100 K-10 M samples/s depending on the ADC chosen). Its primary aim was for structural analysis in which the requirements can be easily met by this design but at a lower cost. Some interesting extensions are those cases of independent, multiple units with simultaneous sampling, and simultaneous displays while maintaining high speed and resolution
