Abstract
It is shown that a concentric array of improved directivity Corum elements disposed about a central tower, driven by appropriate source amplitudes, produces a Fourier series approximation to any desired vertically polarized radiation pattern in the plane of the array. The antenna system is of special interest to broadcasters (where protected contours and interference levels are legally constrained) and also to other medium- and low-frequency users who require a vertically polarized directional array. An elementary example of the pattern synthesis technique is presented.<>
