Abstract :
A dual-arm logarithmic spiral patch antenna is analyzed using the segmentation method and multiport network theory. Applying this approach, the antenna characteristics such as bandwidth, input impedance, scattering parameters, and radiation patterns are calculated. The theoretical and experimental results are in very good agreement with each other and show that the antenna is circularly polarized over a wide frequency band. The model along with an optimization routine can be used to design dual-arm spiral patch antennas.
