Abstract :
Sensor networks have shown a tremendous growth in many domains like environmental monitoring, moving object tracking etc. We present a model for tracking a moving object using Kalman filtering in sensor networks field. Simulations for straight line and circular path motion are described. Simulation results are presented to illustrate the performance of the developed model. Possible applications might be vehicular traffic monitoring in highways, detecting and tracking people movement in secured areas, tracking & navigating mobile robots, tracking animals´ movements and surveillance of hazardous regions.
