Abstract :
Spatial geometric deformation is the core technology of surface modeling. Implement quadric modeling by modified basic entity or existing models. In order to avoid low effectiveness which is brought by operating underlying geometric primitives directly, two key problems need to be solved. These are selecting the appropriate features of the mannequin as a basis for deformation and modifying mannequin with effective deformation technology. This article introduces axial deformation to adjust the mannequin. Feature parameters are determined according to anthropometrical approach and theory. Taken into consideration the intuition of the manipulation, choose cubic polynomial interpolation curve to define axial curve. Use parallel offset and rotation interpolation to construct the local moving frame. Both template and result models are described in terms of polygonal meshes. The remarkable advantages of this method are the simplicity of operating, the intuition of input and the quick speed of modeling. The method can be effectively applied to simulation environment in need of individual mannequins.
