Abstract
This short paper introduces a strategy for improving the dependability of distributed applications. This strategy, that can be used in cloud systems for supporting both scheduling and resources allocation policies, exploits the knowledge about the interactions between the components of a distributed application for identifying a near-optimal deployment of those components on the distributed resources.
