Title :
Introduction to radio frequency co-channel interference measurements and modelling at 1-30 GHz
Author_Institution :
Rutherford Appleton Lab., Chilton, Didcot, UK
Abstract :
The author considers the problems of interference from co-channel transmitters to tropospheric radio communication, and introduces the European COST Project 210. This was set up in 1984 to provide suitable data and to develop and evaluate models to serve as a basis for frequency planning and co-ordination procedures and interference calculations. The work of cost 210 is described, including interference due to hydrometeor scatter, interference in clean air, and interference reduction techniques
