  • Abstract
The authors discuss the spectral modelling of precipitation scattered signals. A distinction is made between long- and short-term spectral characteristics i.e. spectral characteristics measured on time scales respectively long and short compared with the decorrelation time of the scatterers. In the case of the long-term characteristics a minimalistic spectral model is presented. In the case of the short-term characteristics the intuitive inverse relationship between coherence bandwidth and delay spread is made more precise
