Abstract
Branch points play an important role in the transient analysis of a lossy transmission line. The authors present a method for distinguishing poles from branch points in the transients. This approach combines the E-pulse method and a modified FFT (fast Fourier transform). Several examples are presented to demonstrate its effectiveness. Attention is restricted here to half-order branch points.<>
