Abstract
Sierra Semiconductor Corporation was established in 1983 to serve the market for ASICs requiring its unique Triple Technology. This process technology allows the inclusion of Analogue, Digital and EEPROM on a single device. A library of over 300 cells has been developed for the 2 micron CMOS process including a 34 MHz phase locked loop and an 8-bit microcontroller core, based on National Semiconductor´s COP800. The author describes the development of a chip that combined the elements of Analogue, Digital, EEPROM and Microprocessor circuitry in a single device
