Abstract :
Computer vision functions have traditionally been computationally intensive to perform. The author describes an architecture being developed at British Aerospace Sowerby Research Centre, specifically aimed at computer vision, comprising of transputers and frame-rate processing equipment hosted by a SUN workstation. In addition, some initial comparisons between the SUM 3/160 and a 25 transputer array suggest that the array is two orders of magnitude quicker than the SUN
