  • Abstract
Virtual traffic environment is an important element for driving simulator. Its authenticity can give user sense of reality and immersion. Aiming at improving the reality of virtual traffic environment, a new method is presented in this paper, i.e. using Eon Studio, which is a three-dimensional (3D) interactive simulation software, to simulate the autonomous overtaking behavior of autonomous virtual vehicle (AVV). The method of transforming the overtaking safety distance to the size of the front car envelop box is proposed. Base on this technology, AVV autonomous overtaking without collision motion simulation is realized by using collision node of Eon Studio. Finally, the overtaking simulation was applied to the autonomous virtual vehicle vision perception behavior system (AVV-VPB system). The simulation result was satisfying and improved the reality of virtual traffic environment.
