Abstract :
Although the gains of V-antennas are good, the antennas are too large. In order to reduce the size of the antenna, the effects of introducing magnetic material in the antenna´s arm are studied. This entails the derivation of a radiation pattern expression and field strength measurements for V-antennas with and without magnetic material. Both the calculated and measured results are analyzed and found to be in good agreement. It is concluded, therefore, that the magnetic material can affect the radiation pattern and hence can be used as a design parameter in reducing and controlling the antenna size.<>
