Abstract :
Reviews the status of thin film high-temperature superconductor development, and the prospects for making electronic devices using these recently discovered oxide materials. The challenge of making tunnel junction and other switching devices is assessed by comparison with experience using the conventional metal and alloy low-temperature superconductors
