  • Abstract
Early-time response is of interest in connection with target recognition by the singularity expansion method M.A. Morgan (see IEEE Trans. Antennas Propag., vol.AP-32, p.466-73, 1984) has formulated the early-time response in terms of natural modes of the scatterer with corresponding time-dependent coefficients. The authors argue that Morgan´s formulation is not valid. Specifically, they claim to demonstrate that the early-time response cannot be formulated in terms of natural modes of the scatterer.<>
