Abstract :
In this paper, we presented a systematic and effective tuning technique for the control loading system (CLS) based on Bode plots. The control parameters were tuned as follows. First of all, investigation for the proportional gain of the velocity control loop by using a dynamic signal analyzer (DSA) was performed (1991). Using the function characteristic of DSA, the Bode plots of the open loop transfer function was obtained and a proportional(P) gain of the velocity control loop was determined. Next, the integral(I) gain of the velocity control loop was determined by using the integration time constant extracted from the Bode plots of the open loop transfer function. And then, with the determined P and I gains the Bode diagram of the velocity control closed loop was obtained by using DSA, and the transfer function of the velocity control loop was obtained from the Bode diagram. Lastly the proportional gain of the position control loop could be determined by using the root locus of the position control loop. And the experiments to actuate the control loading system were executed with the tuned parameters. The control parameter tuning method presented in this paper showed good results in the actual experiments.
