Abstract :
In this paper, a new design of Circular Meander Microstrip Antenna (CMMA) is presented to develop wireless communication link between on Body Area Network (BAN), sensor node device and hand held mobile using 402-405 MHz, Medical Implant Communication Service (MICS) frequency band. Computer Simulation Technology (CST) Microwave Studio was used to evaluate the antenna design. CST Microwave Studio is based on the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique. Size reduction techniques such as meandering, addition of shorting pin and using of superstrate were investigated to find a suitable antenna size for on body use in MICS frequency band.
