Abstract
This article put GIS application development as the goal. Based on the basis functions of Windows CE, the methods of opening and reading GPS serial data are analyzed and studied. The program put forward the method which can through cessor multithread technique to simulate the overlapping I/O processing literacy operate method. It solves the problem that WinCE does not support asynchronous serial communication operation and designs the GPS real- time communication with PDA which would lay the foundation for GPS_PDA development on mobile GIS application and make GPS_PDA widely applied in various fields.
