Abstract :
A speaker independent isolated digit recognition algorithm is described. Decision making using a tree structure has been adopted in this method. Two simple features, energy envelope and zerocrossing rate, have been used for the classification. An 80% recognition accuracy with trained speakers has been achieved with this algorithm.
