The author considers the provision of radio data systems (RDS) in Europe, and discusses the equipment needed for use with such systems. The conversion of a digitally tuned car radio into an RDS receiver is briefly overviewed, and the integration of the RDS demodulator is discussed. The author describes the working of the DC 682 RDS car radio, and data acquisition is considered
