Abstract
In this paper, the problem of passivity for Hopfield neural networks with time-varying delay is investigated. Different from the others, the restriction that the derivative of time-varying delay be less than 1 is removed. The descriptor model transformation is used to ensure a less conservative criterion. The obtained passivity criterion is formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our methods.
