Abstract :
This paper presents results of UWB (ultra wideband) channels characterization in outdoor environments that are useful for future developing of sensoring equipments and for emergency communications. The frequency sounding technique was used in a 750 MHz band. Ten measurement campaigns were carried out on the Federal Fluminense University Campi, placed at Niteroi city, Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil, which resulted in a database of 1627 files. The power delay profiles were obtained from the measured data and the CLEAN technique was then applied. The delay spread and the coherence bandwidth of the channel were achieved and their relations were analyzed. The path loss was evaluated at two open sites of 33.5 and 49 meters.
