  • Abstract
The provision of air traffic service (ATS), for several independent airlines, uses many computer systems to perform aircraft surveillance, traffic control and optimization, and flow management. These systems provide safety and reliability levels considered satisfactory for low and moderate traffic volume. In the most advanced airspaces in the world, there are also automation tools for traffic optimization. However, regarding the huge air traffic increase expected for the next years, not much has been done in order to improve the ATS systems when addressing the specific needs of each passenger, for example, to prevent flight connection losses caused by flight delays, or simply decrease flight delay compensation. This paper presents a multi-agent software solution for improving Air Traffic Management Performance.
