Abstract
The ignitron is a suitable tube for many pulse power applications. It is being used in an increasing number of research and industrial applications. It can be used in series and/or parallel to extend it´s capability. The author discusses three applications of ignitrons: as crowbar protection for travelling wave tubes, to ensure voltage hold-off reliability in rail gun power sources, and food processing industry applications
