The electronic automatic sectionaliser link (power system protection)

The author describes electronic automatic sectionaliser links (sometimes known as ERICs) which have now become well established as a means of protection for overhead power line networks. There are probably around 1000-1500 such units currently installed on overhead lines, in locations as diverse as the North of Scotland, the Midlands and the South West of England. Their operating principles are given and performance results analysed
