Abstract
Capacity performance is among the most important issues especially in WCDMA cellular networks planning. Spectral efficiency is one of the most representative parameters to evaluate cell capacity. An analytical spectral efficiency model is introduced taking into account cell breathing effect. Moreover, numerical computations are performed to estimate the exact values of this parameter. A new Reuse Partitioning (RP) scheme is extended to WCDMA system and analyzed in terms of efficiency and profitability to the operator regarding cost fees involved. Sectored RP pattern is also introduced and evaluated. Simulations highlight the tradeoff between partitioning capacity improvement and different related financial costs, and give the optimal solution to equipment providers and network operators.
