Abstract :
In radar the transmitted pulse is defined in duration, peak power and timing by a modulator. The hydrogen thyratron soon superseded all other switching devices on its introduction as it could reduce drift and jitter. The uses of thyratrons in radar for pulse modulation and crowbar applications are discussed
