Abstract
A load balancing protocol is used to distribute the work-load among processors in a distributed system. By applying this protocol the performance of the distributed system can be improved. A dynamic algorithm for load balancing in a distributed system is proposed so that jobs of a heavily loaded processor are transferred to lightly loaded processors on the basis of the current state of the system. The algorithm maximizes processor utilization and minimizes the response time for executing tasks
