Abstract
In this paper, the design of analysis and synthesis filters for a 2-channel, perfect reconstruction filter bank is described. The MTLAB example of this filter is also presented. The decomposition signal in two frequency bands is useful in the signal transmission e.g. speech and image processing and can be used also in other areas. The filters must be designed in such way that effects of aliasing and distortion are eliminated and thus the filter bank has a perfect reconstruction property, i.e. output is delayed version of the input. The finite impulse response half band filters are used for filter bank design.
