Abstract
This paper concerns hybrid dynamical system, which is usually described by two or more ordinary differential equation sets and several switching condition functions. A general classification based on the properties of sub-systems and borders is proposed. Then we introduce a method to find specific periodic solution and investigate its stability. The method is general and systematic with the capability of solving large variety of practical problems. The type of systems under study covers most of PWM power electronic circuits, on which complex phenomena has been observed. Typically, the well used voltage-mode controlled buck converter and H-bridge inverter are considered in this paper. We apply the proposed method on them and gave some interesting results about periodic solutions and bifurcation problems.
