Abstract :
A power system stability control scheme using real-time data is presented in this paper. A fast evaluation of power system stability by transient energy function (TEF) method is adopted. A practical numerical sensitivity analysis technique, capable of providing useful information to search stability control measures, is explained in the paper as well. A design method of decentralized stability control system for large-scale interconnected power systems using real-time data is given. The presented control scheme resorts to TEF method, which can realize on-line assessment of the transient stability and decide stability control strategy. According to the candidates of leading generators determined by off-line simulations, an on-line recognition of real leading machines is performed and generation tripping among them to stabilize the disturbed system can be quickly evaluated
