Abstract :
Bit error or packet loss is unavoidable in error-prone wireless networks, so error resilience and concealment are becoming important and necessary techniques for image or video remote monitoring. A simple and applied error resilient coding scheme is proposed based on a novel anti-jamming algorithm and a data packet algorithm in this paper. Compressed image data is highly sensitive for transmission errors in wireless networks, almost any error can lead to unacceptable effect on reconstructed images on the decoder. Firstly, the proposed anti-jamming algorithm is used to protect header information of image data according to the idea of unequal error protection. Secondly, the data packet algorithm is adopted to interleave compressed data blocks in certain order, which decreases the loss probability of consecutive data blocks at the same time. Finally, based on the above-mentioned algorithms, the error resilient coding scheme is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme makes image data more robust during the process of wireless transmission.
