Abstract :
Factors relevant to very-small aperture terminal (VSAT) networks in India, including service requirements by the user, RF spectrum utilization, space segment position, and indigenous manufacturing capability are discussed. A comparison of code-division multiaccess (CDMA), time-division multiaccess (TDMA), and frequency-division multiaccess (FDMA) techniques for satellite communications using VSATs is presented. The comparison is based on services required, space-segment utilization, and extent of frequency coordination
