Abstract
In general, any system needs to be frequently checked for upgrade or replacement of its components due to improvements in the underlying technology development and/or changing user requirements. This calls for system reconfiguration. In collaboration with NASA, Langley Research Center, we have been working on developing techniques to handle reconfiguration for Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) (Mukkamala et al., 2003). This paper mainly deals with the generalization aspect of reconfiguration with suggested system architecture. We also handle the problem of ripple effect with a proposed iterative model.
