Abstract :
Uniform asymptotic solutions for the diffraction by a two- and three-part thin, planar dielectric/ferrite slab are developed. Each of the material slabs considered can reduce to an infinitesimally thin resistive sheet, a perfect electric or magnetic conductor, or free space. The background echo widths of various configurations based on the developed solutions are presented and compared with independent moment method solutions.<>
