Adopting modern information technology as assistance to accomplish the teaching task is a trend in present and future education. Application of multimedia technology provides a new way for PE teaching. It is very good for students to develop cognition of basic sport knowledge, to review sport view, to improve sport skills and to perfect thinking quality. Through literature, logic analysis and expert interview, the article analyzes the application of multimedia technology in college PE teaching and the integration of multimedia teaching with traditional teaching. Teaching with multimedia plays a significant role in optimizing PE class teaching, stimulating students´ motivation and interest, deepening their understanding of movement concept and skill mastery, as well as improving PE teaching quality.
