With the progress of science and technology, computer network technology (CNT) in school education is more and more extensive, and its application effect is also more and more remarkable. PE teaching is no exception. Multimedia PE teaching courseware, PE teaching courseware for students´ own learning, PE teaching information query and exchange, auxiliary PE teaching research and office automation are already causing extensive attention in PE teaching. But many problems appeared with the process in which CNT and physical education are combined, and they constitute the main factors to inhibit or hinder the application of CNT in college PE teaching. With literature review, expert interview and logic analysis, etc., the article analyzes factors that influence the application of CNT in college PE teaching, such as hardware facilities, CAI software and inherent teaching ideas and teaching methods, etc. Aiming at these influencing factors, it puts forward some suggestions like increasing investment on hardware facilities, developing vigorously sports auxiliary teaching software and improving PE teachers´ knowledge literacy and so on. To solve these problems is an unshirkable responsibility placed before the general CNT personnel and PE workers. Meanwhile it is a long-term task in front of education departments at all levels and should cause widespread concern.
