  • Abstract
Glass fibre components have been used in switchgear for many years as structural members and as drive links where they are subject to high stresses. Such components are now well proven in service and increasing attention is now being paid to the use of composite hollow insulators in SF6 pressurised circuit breakers and other switchgear equipment. The author reviews the applications and requirements for such components in switchgear
