Abstract :
A novel beamformer is proposed for simultaneous reception of multiple satellite signals, while rejecting interference. The scheme consists of three stages. Firstly a singular value decomposition technique is utilized to construct a transformation for removing interferers. Secondly, an eigen-based beam forming is performed based on the transformed data consisting of only satellite signals and additive noise to produce multiple beams for each satellite. Finally, the weight vector is projected onto signal-plus-noise subspace to achieve a higher output SINR. Numerical examples confirm the efficacy of the proposed scheme
