Abstract
Summary form only given. This presentation develops a framework suitable for performing a multiresolution analysis using univariate spline spaces of arbitrary degree and non-uniform node sequences. Using the basic properties of B-splines defined on an arbitrary grid, it is possible to generalize the construction of spline wavelets to arbitrary nodes (simple or even multiple). In some particular instances, it is possible to characterize node sequences such that the reconstruction coefficients in the B-splines--B-wavelet representation decays exponentially
