Capabilities of satellite technology for land mobile safety communications

Land mobile safety communications are already catered for in many communications systems. The author illustrates the capabilities of satellite technology by defining the general requirements of safety communications, with reference to existing practises, and examining how those requirements are being met. The mechanism used is to answer a number of questions which might be asked by a potential user of land mobile safety communications
