Abstract :
A scheme has been evolved which appears to bridge the academic and industrial divide. It provides industry with the advanced vision it requires to survive, with a price structure which it can accommodate. It provides university research groups with intellectually stimulating and relevant problems to solve which by virtue of their relevance attract income. Lastly, it provides young men and women with a unique vehicle upon which to develop there professional skills in an exciting and creative environment
