  • Abstract
This paper intends to draw attention to some aspects of a stability theory for the dynamics of large nonlinear systems with saturation on system signals (or actuation limits) and system states (or state limits) called by us the taxonomy theory. The taxonomy theory establishes a two-level cellular structure of large nonlinear systems both in the state space and in the parameter space. The results are based on strong engineering motivation from phenomena in power system models. However the dynamic structure established in the taxonomy theory which is very briefly summarized in this paper is of fundamental significance for general nonlinear systems with hard-limits or saturation nonlinearities
