IPTV over Next Generation Networks in ITU-T

Requirements and frameworks of ITU-T NGN standards have been finished of its 1^st version so called release 1(R1), since most of relevant NGN R1 recommendations were approved at the end of year 2006. ITU-T initiated another important study, that is, IPTV through another focus group from April 2006. This study is going on with three frameworks: Non-IMS based NGN, IMS-based NGN and Non-NGN based. This provides key summary report of "IPTV over NGN" based on draft standards developed by ITU-T NGN-GSI and IPTV focus group. This paper covers requirements and functional architectures.
