  • Abstract
    We have experimentally demonstrated a hybrid optical amplifier comprising a periodically poled LiNbO/sub 3/ crystal and an erbium-doped fiber amplifier. The use of cascaded nonlinearity inside nonlinear crystal made it possible to construct a "nonlinearity-free" optical amplifier.
