Abstract :
This paper is based a regional study of quality practices in Northern Ireland, conducted between March and September 1992. The findings are based on responses from a representative sample of 2037 organisations in both the public and private sectors, employing 10 or more people. The overall objective of the survey was to establish the current levels of activity with respect to both ISO 9000 and total quality management in the province. It is in this context that part of the study examines the involvement of quality consultants
