  • Abstract
As technology improves, a free electronic press promises to provide channels of communication, education, and debate superior both to the paper press and to the electronic media of today. It is pointed out that historical accidents have created distinctions between the electronic and traditional media which place freedom of the electronic press in serious jeopardy. The problems associated with the electronic press and some possible solutions are discussed. It is concluded that the electronic press is the press of the future and must be treated as such; only thus can the constitutional principles of a free society be kept intact.<>
