Abstract
The underside of the helicopter below the crew cabin was used for the installation of a combination antenna system. Very little clearance is available between the helicopter underside and the ground when accounting for hard landings. A combination of technical approaches were required to install broadband, rotating antennas along with a radar narrowband antenna in these small volumes. All antennas in the suite, which cover 5.2 octaves, share a common rotating scan axis. Single method attacks on the problem did not produce desired results. Reported is the successful compromise solution giving acceptable levels of performance for all systems served by the suite
