Abstract
Examples of the use of lightwave circuits to partition aerospace-borne systems are presented. The role of lightwave technology in future phase array radar, communication and electronic warfare system architectures is discussed. The status of microwave bandwidth photonic transmitter and receiver circuits operating between 0.1 and 40 GHz is summarized along with the projected impact of the new erbium-doped optical fiber light amplifiers
